A busy weekend and week at the market
Shop local at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Sweet corn and peaches are here, along with tomatoes and summer veggies. Wednesday, Aug. 7 is our monthly food truck rally, 5-8, to followed by an outdoor movie “Flicks on Bricks” starting at sunset. To celebrate our 100th year, the AA Public Library is hosting an exhibit about the market’s history, that includes our story from the past 100 years plus lots of old photos. The exhibit will be featured at the downtown library now through Aug. 30. We’ll also celebrate with a “birthday bash” on Saturday, Aug. 17 – more details on our website http://www.a2gov.org/market.

Natural Area Preservation Stewardship Workday
Saturday, Aug. 3, Dhu Varren Woods Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. Japanese hedge parsley is one of the newer species to invade Washtenaw County and it’s threatening this high quality area. Assist us in pulling these plants and protecting the native habitat. Meet at the intersection of Birchwood Drive and Dhu Varren Road. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. All participants must complete a release form, and all minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks, and know-how provided.

Free Concert in the Park
Dan Hall happily shares his love for songwriting drawing audiences of all ages into his infectious muse. This is a sing-a-long friendly show. Sunday, Aug. 4, 3-4:30 p.m. outdoors at the Ann Arbor Senior Center, 1320 Baldwin Ave.

Skatepark Maintenance Work Scheduled
The Ann Arbor Skatepark will be undergoing maintenance improvements the week of Aug. 5-9. There will be areas of the park that should remain skateable throughout the process. Thank you for understanding.

Register for the Match Play Golf Championship
Presented by Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation and Miles of Golf is the kick-off weekend to the 2019 Match Play Championship (stroke play qualifier), Aug. 24-25 at Leslie Park Golf Course. Two divisions include an open from the black tees for 16 golfers and a senior division (50+) from the blue tees for 16 golfers both to quality for the Sunday, Aug. 25 round. $50 fee includes entry into the event, walking greens fees for 18-hole qualifier and 18-hole Sunday round, plus a walking greens fee for all future qualified matches. Splash Day Countdown!
GIVE 365 will be hosting a fun filled, Splash Day to celebrate all things sustainable, eco-friendly and environmentally awesome at Fuller Park Pool, Saturday, Aug. 10, 2-4 p.m. Join us for a recycling of favorite games, earth friendly crafting and plenty of clean water to splash about in.
